I’m Haseeb Aslam. I’m a board-certified internal medicine hospitalist. I work on the floor. I also precept medical students on inpatient rotations as a teaching attending.

I started writing because the first night of a job is a poor time to meet a textbook. The field guides came from what I wished I had on night one. A rising troponin. A family in the hall. A note that has to be done before the next page. The Resident’s Edge and The Hospitalist’s Edge are that next-move layer. Diagnosis, treatment, workflow, quality. Short enough to use. Dense enough to trust.

The finance books came from a different rounding pattern. I watched colleagues who were excellent at the bedside and still trapped by a paycheck. A high salary can hide a thin margin. Optional work is a number, a savings rate, and an order of operations. It is not a vibe. Practice by Choice, The Freedom Prescription, and Stethoscope to Freedom are the short version of that math. The Practice by Choice planner on this site is the worksheet I wanted between shifts.

The metabolic book came from clinic. Every week someone is told to pick a war: weight, blood sugar, or cholesterol. Then they are told to give up the food they love. That is a bad brief. Waist, glucose, and lipids are three readouts of one system. You Don’t Have to Choose is the method for that conversation. The Metabolic Triad Planner is the companion desk.

Leave a margin is the same instruction in three rooms. On the floor, it is the extra minute before you commit to a plan you cannot reverse. In an account, it is defined risk. Size the trade so one bad week does not end you. In a body, it is a method you can keep on a Tuesday, not a purge you abandon on day four. The options scanner is that idea applied to cash-secured puts and covered calls.

I do not sell trade signals. I do not manage anyone’s money. I do not run a course. I do not accept sponsorship for the tools on this site. The scanner, the planner, and the triad are free. They are educational. They are not advice. The books are for sale because writing them took years of nights after the census was done. That is the whole business.

Who this is for is broader than a physician lounge. The hospital medicine books are for residents and hospitalists. The options books and the scanner are for anyone collecting premium who wants defined risk in plain language. The planner was built for physicians and still works if you want a freedom number. The metabolic book and triad are for anyone tired of a food war.

If you want the catalog, open the books page. The same titles live on my Amazon author page.
